Loudon Utility Board is seeking to hire a Water Plant Operator for the Water Treatment Plant. Working under the instructions of the Chief Operator.
In this position you will be responsible for operating and controlling electric motors, pumps, and valves to control water flow through the treatment process to the water distribution system. You will perform routine tests and make adjustments as necessary to control pH, bacteria, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, etc. and record data on log sheets. Additional duties include, filling feeders with appropriate chemicals, changing out chlorine cylinders, completing daily operational reports, perform routine lubrication and maintenance on pumps, motors.
Minimum Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, a valid Tennessee driver’s license and obtain a Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Operator license. You must also have the ability to work a rotating schedule, verbal and auditory skills to communicate with customers and contractors, sufficient visual and reading acuity to comprehend printed materials and adequate mathematical ability.

DIRECTOR OF ELECTRIC
Loudon Utilities, a municipal electric, natural gas, wastewater, and water utility, is seeking a Director of Electric for its Loudon, TN, operations.
This position which reports directly to the General Manager will provide leadership to LUB’s Electric Department. This individual will plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities,
projects and operations of the Electric Department in the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of the electric distribution systems.
In this position you will coordinate assigned activities with other city departments and outside agencies and represent the Electric Department to the general public.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Direct the development and implementation of the Electric Department goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned service areas.
• Establish, within LUB policy, appropriate service and staffing levels; monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; allocate resources accordingly.
• Plan, direct and coordinate the Electric Department work plan; assign projects and programmatic areas of responsibili¬ty; review and evaluate work methods and procedures;
assess and monitor work load, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improve¬ment; direct and implement changes.
• Develop and administer the departmental budget; forecast the need for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and five plus years of
proven managerial experience in the electrical industry. Must be proficient in all aspects of the electrical distribution lines, sub-transmission lines, substations, metering and services.
Must be analytically adept and have proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently. Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are required.
